Interest is growing for a Baseball World Cup tournament. It seems like a cool idea. It's almost surprising this hasn't happened yet. The Dominican Republic's potential line-up looks killer.

Unfortunately, the Bruins make another first round exit. But who never made it, that's right the Canadiens. And who's also out in the first round, the Leafs. I love the upsets. Minnesota beat Colorado! Obviously he's a great goalie but man does Roy look tired. If he doesn't freshen up in the offseason next year could be a rocky for the Avs. As for the Leafs, talk about the extreme in a goalie making the difference in a game. Belfour made a huge difference, and not so much in the area of physical goalie skills, it's called containing the crazy goalie inner psyche! Costing your team the game by making them kill ridiculous penalties in game 7 of the playoffs?!? Belfour's gotta be praying that he still has a job.

I type this while watching the Bruins in the first game of the series against the Devils. Slightly ironic, both teams that have dumped coach Robbie Ftorek near the end of the regular season now playing against each other in the first round of the playoffs.
Michael Wilbon of Pardon the Interruption, one of my favorite sports shows, picked the Bruins in an upset to beat the Devils. I sure hope he's right! The Bruins definitely have their work cut out for them. The Devils have the advantage of a great goaltender in Martin Brodeur. On the other hand, the Bruins still have somewhat of a question mark in net. Hackett, who's recovering from a broken finger in his stick hand, didn't play tonight. Will he be ready to play anytime soon? The Bruins need a return of their explosive offense and solid goaltending in order to have a good chance.

Closer by committee hasn't been impressive yet. In fact, it's down right sucked. Still it has to be taken in perspective, right. Take a deep breath and say it with me, it is only the first two games of the season. Then try to block out the fact that the games have been played against one of the "worst teams in baseball."
